CVS $5.00 Challenge

This is something new I am going to start participating in on a weekly basis. It's fun to see others scenarios they come up with. I'll post mine here and then you can head over to Keeping the Kingdom First to check out what deal scenarios others have come up with.

Here's the Rules:

1. Come up with your best scenario/scenarios for the upcoming week at CVS using the current weekly ad, monthly deals, and coupons available. Your budget for Out of Pocket (OOP) expenses on the first transaction is only $5.00 (either cash OOP or ECBs on hand).

2. Using up to (3) scenarios (we don't want to overwhelm the newbies with too many transactions), offer up your best scenarios to "grow" that $5.00 into more ECBs to use in following weeks.

3. If you want to divide your $5.00 allowance over the three scenarios to make them work, that's fine!

4. Be sure to list coupons by inserts and/or with links to printables to make it easier for everyone to follow along.

Here's my scenarios I came up with:
Scenario #1
(2) Dawn Dish soap 2/$1.00
(1) CVS Cleansing Towelettes $2.99
(1) Stridex Face Cleanser $3.99
(1) CVS Pantiliners $1.99
(1) Febreze Fabric Refresher $3.99
(1) Febreze Air Effects $2.50

Use these coupons:
(2) -1.00/1 Dawn soap from P&G 7/6 insert
(1) -2.00/1 CVS skincare purchase from CVS Beauty handbook
(1) -1.00/1 Stridex coupon from 6/1 Valassis insert
(1) -3.00 CRT coupon for face skin care
(1) -.50 Febreze Fabric Refresher from Home Made Simple coupon booklet
(1) Buy One Fabric Refresher Get One Air Effects Free from P&G 7/6 insert
(1) -.50 Febreze Air Effects from Home Made Simple coupon booklet

Pay 4.96 oop / get 4.49 ecb

Scenario #2 (I have 2 sets of these coupons)
(1) Febreze Fabric Refresher $3.99
(1) Febreze Air Effects $2.50
(2) Sure Anti-Perspirant 2 x $2.79 = $5.58

(1) -.50 Febreze Fabric Refresher from Home Made Simple coupon booklet
(1) Buy One Fabric Refresher Get One Air Effects Free from P&G 7/6 insert
(1) -.50 Febreze Air Effects from Home Made Simple coupon booklet
(1) Buy One Get One Free Sure coupon from SS 6/29
(1) -$1.00 /1 coupon from SS 6/29

Pay $4.78 oop / get $8.00 ecb (because I got $5.00 from finishing the Febreze deal I started in Scenario #1)

I am truly impressed with what you came up with, nice work! I thought this week looked dull, but you certainly stretched that $5!

Thank you for participating in The CVS $5 Challenge! Hope to see you next week.

Blessings,

Alyssa
