What is UP with the gas??

I don't normally pay much attention to the price of gas anymore. I know I need it if I want to drive. I know which stations to frequent because they typically have the lowest prices so when I need it I just stop at one of my favorite gas stations and pump the gas.

Monday morning I was headed out to the hospital about 8:00 a.m. and I had to stop and get gas. Pulled into the station down the road from the house and as I was pumping the gas I looked to see how much I was paying - $2.64 - hmmmm, I thought it was still in the $2.50 range was what went through my mind. I was going to look at some of the other stations (to compare prices) as I passed them but I forgot about it on my way to the hospital for my friend's surgery.

On my way back home Monday evening at 5:00 pm I remembered to check gas prices. It had jumped to $2.75!! WOW - that's a huge jump in one day! Tuesday early afternoon I headed back out and it was down to $2.67. I can't believe how the price keeps jumping around like that from day to day.

Here is a great tool for checking the prices of gas in your area. When I checked this this morning it shows me the lowest price in my zip code is $2.41 and the highest price is $2.77 - that is a tremendous difference!! Wish I had taken the time to use this little tool on Monday morning...GRRRRR.

Anyway, that's what Works For Me! Head on over to Rocks in my dryer for hundreds of other WWFM tips.

We haven't been below 3.50 a gallon for months. And, we're about to hit 4.00. You're gas prices are CHEAP! :-)

Just what I was thinking! I'm in PA and prices are 3.98 when you use a credit card. Few cents cheaper for cash!

Thanks for the checker! We're at 3.79 today. Yuuuuuuuuuck.

I've been paying for everything I can with my debit card. Even the house payment. I get double points...then cash the points in for gas cards. In around October, I'll start cashing them in for gift cards to use for my nephews' gifts.
